Date Night to Family Night: Top 5 Reasons to Choose Topgolf

This post is sponsored by Topgolf Overland Park. Opinions, however, belong to the writer.

I was a bit intimidated by Topgolf. I’m not a golfer and I’ve picked up a golf club maybe once in my life. I know absolutely nothing about the sport and to be honest it gave me some anxiety.

The great thing about Topgolf is that you can be a novice, like me, and still have fun! After whacking a few balls, my confidence built up and it was exciting to see how far my swing could take the tiny golf ball. As a newbie, I was having fun and my husband, who has spent many times on a golf course, was back in the swing.

From a date night to a family night, Topgolf is a great day or night outing.

1. Food and Drinks.

Topgolf has a wide variety of yummy appetizers. I love appetizers on a date night and they did not disappoint. They also offer a variety of burgers, sandwiches, sliders, flatbreads and salads. And a kids menu that will satisfy my picky eaters! They have a fun drink menu, too. You can pick a variety of beers, wine, mules, martinis (my favorite!) and Bloody Marys. Let’s talk about the desserts for a second. You can order bite-size donuts and inject them with chocolate, Bavarian cream or raspberry jelly or all three if you’re like me!

2. Heated bays!
It was nice and warm inside our climate controlled bay. After a few rounds of golf, I forgot it was a balmy 45 degrees outside. The heated bay was a plus. It was extremely comfortable to sit outside when it was a bit chilly. Rain or shine or snow (no more, please) they keep the bays open.

3. You don’t have to be a pro.

Like I said, I’ve picked up a club once and that was to literally by my son his set of clubs. I had a blast and there is something exciting about slamming a ball out in the field. Topgolf also offers one hour golf lessons and two hours of play for kids and adults – $99 for juniors; $149 for adults (18+) – seasonal junior academies for kids age 6-12 years old and seasonal adult leagues on Monday and Tuesday evenings.

4. You feel like you’re a pro!

Each bay uses Toptracer, which tracks the flight path of every golf shot and displays it right on your bay’s HD screen. I could actually measure myself getting better! For you pros, Toptracer shows you everything you’d ever want to know about your shot. We’re talking distance, carry, ball speed, launch angle, height, side deviation, landing angle, hang time and distance to target. All the good stuff.

5. This is my favorite reason to visit Topgolf!

They are offering a Summer Fun Pass and you and your family can enjoy unlimited Topgolf game play for you and up to five guests per visit – weekdays until 5 p.m. – from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Start planning your summer of fun now, and take advantage of our Early Bird Offer: $149 per pass until May 26. On May 27, Summer Fan Pass price increases to $199 per pass. We just purchased our pass, and my kids are excited to add this into our summer fun!

They also have a few amazing specials during the week. If you’re looking for ways to keep your kids moving or want to improve your swing, Topgolf offers Half-Price Game Play Every Tuesday at Topgolf – All Day at Topgolf in Overland Park  and $15 per person for 3 hours (9 a.m. – 12 p.m., every Monday- Friday.)

See you on the course!
