Family Friendly Places to Watch the Chiefs Game

Cross all your fingers and knock on any wood in close proximity, because the Kansas City Chiefs are once again throwing out Super Bowl vibes! If you are looking to watch Mahomes and Kelce dominate on the field, Kansas City is home to some great places to watch the Chiefs game with the whole family. Sports bars and restaurants that made this list had to meet stringent criteria: kid approved menus, loads of televisions for pleasurable viewing and a laid back atmosphere. Bonus points received for additional entertainment available when children grow weary from sitting and cheering!

So toss on that lucky jersey and make plans to watch the game without lifting a finger.

Best Places to Watch the Chiefs Game in Missouri

The Peanut on Main is great for older kids who care more about the amazing wings and BLTs than they do the game. With four locations, The Peanut in ready to serve you great bar fare and drinks. Tip: The downtown Overland Park is more spacious and appropriate for smaller kids.

Governor Stumpy’s Grill House is one of the most family friendly places in KC, period. The staff, food and atmosphere is all about gathering and time together. There are plenty of TVs for viewing and a patio if the weather cooperates. The cheese fries, oh my god, the cheese fries.

Minsky’s. Pizza is always a good choice, and Minsky’s knows how to deliver with its 18 locations around the metro. Most have great screens, and some provide extra activities for kids. The Lee’s Summit location has an arcade and jukebox!

The Main Event, Independence location is loaded with televisions, a full bar and enough games and activities for kids to last the four-hour duration of the game. The Olathe site also boasts the same experience.

Char Bar is the BBQ focused urban playground. With bocce ball, beanbag toss, a beer garden, fire pit and picnic tables there’s something for everyone.

Arcade Alley. For $10 kids can play unlimited retro arcade games until 7 p.m. Food can be ordered in from their sister restaurant, Main Slice, but a full bar is available on site.

Yard House is perfect if you want to be close to all the action, but desire a place to sit down out of the elements. An extensive menu and a load of screens, make it the perfect place to cheer without taking the kids through the hustle and bustle of the Power and Light District.

Johnny’s Tavern in Parkville is where Northlanders should head if you want great specials (half price drinks on Sunday!), big TVs and a menu that will satisfy everyone. There are 12 additional locations around the metro.

54th Street Restaurant and Draft House in Zona Rosa has a great patio, golf simulators, pickleball and additional games kids will love while parents sit back and relax.

Chicken N Pickle is the ultimate playground. Located in both North Kansas City and Overland Park, you likely won’t want to leave. Great food, solid drinks, loads of entertainment and a lively atmosphere make this a must visit for families.

Best Places to Watch the Chiefs Game in Kansas

The Other Place in Overland Park, Shawnee and Olathe is the quintessential American sports bar. Known for the kid-friendly pizzas, it’s a place that both parents and their offspring will enjoy visiting and watching.

Austin’s Bar and Grill has televisions at every corner in South Olathe.

Rock and Brews. Kids eat free on Sundays. That’s all you need to know!

Similar to Main Event, Dave & Buster’s is heavy on the entertainment where parents can watch in peace (mostly). It is located in both Overland Park and Kansas City, Kansas.

The Kingdom Bar and Grille is all about the KC Kingdom! In addition to the numerous big screens, bar games and patio, it also has a stage for live music, post-game shows and special events. The walls are adorned with custom artwork by local Illustrator Chris Sembower celebrating the iconic moments and players.

Freddy T’s Bar and Grill has pool tables and video games, breakfast on the weekends for those who want to catch the pregame and an outdoor lounge.

Coach’s Bar and Grill is a KC staple with a wealth of large screens, expansive options for food and drinks and an atmosphere that welcomes families. Two locations are open, both in Overland Park.

Top Golf is of course the perfect place to show off skills with a driver, but surprisingly, also boasts a huge wall of screens for viewing, great service and a menu to feed everyone young and old. Make sure to reserve a bay well in advance to avoid a wait!

Nick and Jake’s offers Chiefs games specials, and encourages patrons to visit their restaurant when they are playing. With three locations on the Kansas side and one in Parkville, there’s one suitable for almost everyone.
