One of best parks in the metro has to be Prairie Village’s Franklin Park. The park, located at Roe and Somerset avenues, not only has playgrounds for both big and littles but also has an amazing natural playground, roller slide, sand pit with toys and plenty of green space to run. Plus, almost the entire park is in the SHADE!

Mom Tips
- Even if you visit on a hot day, the creek, shade and wind make it an enjoyable time
- Bring water shoes or an extra pair of shoes for the creek
- A towel and a cup or small bucket is helpful for the creek.
- Wear sandals yourself because it feels lovely to stick your own feet in
- With the massive sand pit and nature play area, do not expect to leave this park clean! Maybe this isn’t the best choice for a pre-fancy dinner park 😉
- Summersalt Ice Cream Co. is around the corner at Corinth Square. Perfect for a post-park treat.
