We are proud to partner with Organic Valley to share with moms the difference
raising happy cows make in producing milk for their families.
As a Midwest girl, I always try to teach my my family the hard work and care that goes into making the food that they eat. And as a family that cares about caring for the planet as part of that process, we care that the way our food is grown and cared for protects our health as well as the Earth’s.
These values led us to discover Organic Valley products. Organic Valley is a cooperative owned by over 1,700 small family farmers who are committed to running a business that is right for people, animals and the environment. For our family of milk drinkers and cheese lovers, knowing the food we’re eating is good for our kids, the cows, the farmers and the soil, is something we feel good about every time we fill the grocery cart.
Happy Cows Make Better Milk
Organic Valley pours love into the cows that make the milk that ends up on your dining room table. But, how do we know their cows are happier?
They are outside in fresh air.
Just like kids, cows need outside time to be happy and healthy! Organic Valley cows are outside on pasture 50 percent more than USDA organic standards require.
They eat a nutrient rich diet.
Because Organic Valley cows are outside more, they are eating more grass, which rich in good nutrients. Unlike sending your kids to the salad bar for dinner, this kind of meal makes the cows happy and in turn, they make higher quality milk.
They get to play.
The cows are free to roam, graze and play! We all know this makes both cows and kids thrive.
They get all the love they need.
Organic Valley cows are cared for on small family farms — the average herd size is just 78! They aren’t just milk makers, they are animals with personalities and names, just like the pets in your house.
Happy cows definitely make better milk – which we use for cereal, smoothies, and bedtime snacks. But where it really tastes the very best is in fun milkshakes!
