What: Sips and Sweets
When: Noon – 2 p.m., Sunday, April 23
Where: Kendra Scott, 4533 W 119th St, Leawood, Kan.

Sips and Sweets at Kendra Scott Benefitting KC for RefugeesWe’re excited that 20 percent of sales during the event will go to KC for Refugees, an amazing organization whose goal is to welcome refugees to the Kansas City community. The organization is currently focusing their fundraising efforts on supporting a Kansas City Syrian refugee mother, who needs funds to help her daughter through treatment of a blood disorder. You can learn more about their story here

In addition to funds, we will have information at the event of opportunities to get involved with the organization and what you can do to help welcome fellow mothers to the KC community. To learn more about the conditions many of the mothers, just like us, are facing in their home countries, read Megan’s story of photographing a Syrian refugee camp earlier this year and how that experience lead her (and us!) to this great organization. Sips and Sweets at Kendra Scott Benefitting KC for Refugees

Please help us support this effort while spending time with other mamas relaxing and shopping!

Sarah is mama to 9-year-old, Henry, 6-year-old Clark and 4-year-old Lucy. After growing up in Manhattan, Kansas (Go Cats!), she moved to Minnesota where she met her husband, Shea. Realizing how much she hated snow in May, she convinced him to move to Kansas City in 2010. Together they have lived in Midtown, Waldo, the Plaza before migrating to Johnson County. Sarah has her master’s in urban administration and is currently in the Kansas City Centurions program. In between the crazy, she likes to drink coffee, run, travel (but never to the same place twice), and experience all things Kansas City!
