Santa + Skate + Shop at Zona Rosa

Tis’ the season for Santa visits, holiday shopping and all the festivities. You can experience all of these in one place at the newly remodeled Zona Rosa with some new additions sure to make the season more magical than ever before! If you haven’t been to Zona Rosa lately, you’ll be amazed at the new Central Park which offers a great place to keep the kids busy while you shop, a huge green space, bold new artwork and murals, and is home to the icon crowns (resurrected from the old downtown).

Santa Sighting

Santa Claus is back in town, and he’s at Zona Rosa in his Winter Wonderland located inside The Grove thru December 24.

Your kids will get to have a very detailed conversation with Santa!  He is ready to answer the question, “Why can’t I have a Lamborghini for Christmas?” and any other doozies your littles throw at him! Enjoy the candid or posed photos the elves take for you! There is no shortage of festive frames to capture the moment and your kids will go home with free crowns or princess tiaras with each photo package purchased.

After meeting the big man, take an elfie and stop by the Salvation Army Angel Tree and grab an angel tag!

Zona Rosa even offers a sensory-friendly Santa photo opportunity on Sunday, Dec. 5 from 11 a.m. to noon, and Sunday, Dec. 12 from 11 a.m. to noon These two opportunities are perfect for any Santa seeker with sensory sensitivities. These times provide a calm, quiet setting before the general public gets there.

KCMC Mom Tip: Beat the crowd and reserve your spot with Santa online.

Ice Skating

Make a day of it and head over to The Rink for ice skating or pond hockey, located next to Dillard’s and the giant Christmas Tree and is open daily until February!  The Rink is a great way to enjoy the sights and sounds of Zona with fun for the whole family! Bring your own skates or rent them for just $4 a pair! The Rink has plenty of comfortable seating for grownups who aren’t feeling lucky enough to survive the ice. With hot chocolate and s’mores kits you’ll enjoy time on and off the ice.

KCMC Mom Tip: Save $2 by booking an after-school session, or if your kids want to learn to play hockey or ice skate like the pros, sign up for lessons.

“I’m Marsha, the devoted wife of a Nebraska Husker fan, mother to a sweet laid back 11-year-old boy named Kellen and a 9-year-old spunky know-it-all named Rowen. I am a Kansas City native, proud Northwest Bearcat Alumni, and enthusiastic 4th grade teacher! I enjoy stolen moments where I can read in peace, indulging in chocolate chip cookies whenever possible, tending to my vegetable garden and finding new ways to annoy my daughter! My goal in life is to be my authentic self, follow the motto of ‘She did what she could,’ and share that with other moms!”
