Swim Lessons

Olathe’s Aqua Tots Swim School teaches kids ages 4 months – 12 years how to become safe and confident swimmers. The pool is a warm 90 degrees and the school allows flexible scheduling and make-up lessons.

Goldfish Swim School

Goldfish, located in Overland Park, specializes in year-round lessons for kids ages 4 months to 12 years old. The teaching methods are based on the SwimPlay philosophy, which focuses on learning through guided play in a safe environment. Swimmers learn safety in the water for age-appropriate concerns – first, learning to get themselves out of the pool and later, appropriate behavior while at a pool.

Emler Swim School

Emler was founded on the principle that every child has the ability to swim, and it’s our calling to help them discover that ability. They employ a proven semester-based, year-round approach that integrates child development best practices. Classes available year-round at locations in Westwood and Leawood.

YMCA of Greater Kansas City

The Y offers swim lessons for kids ages 6 months to 12 years old. Their wide array of class options; including weekdays, weeknights, and weekends, make it easy to work it into an already packed schedule. The progress focuses on nurturing swimming skills, developing self-esteem and creating positive experiences that will last a lifetime.

Sarah is mama to 9-year-old, Henry, 6-year-old Clark and 4-year-old Lucy. After growing up in Manhattan, Kansas (Go Cats!), she moved to Minnesota where she met her husband, Shea. Realizing how much she hated snow in May, she convinced him to move to Kansas City in 2010. Together they have lived in Midtown, Waldo, the Plaza before migrating to Johnson County. Sarah has her master’s in urban administration and is currently in the Kansas City Centurions program. In between the crazy, she likes to drink coffee, run, travel (but never to the same place twice), and experience all things Kansas City!
