Summer Fun at Zona Rosa

Zona Rosa is my family’s favorite place to shop, dine and play in the Northland. They have a full line-
up of free summer fun from concerts to movies, festivals and more. Bookmark this page to keep your summer bucket list full of ideas all summer long.

Summer Concerts in the Park

Nothing says summertime like live music in an outdoor setting. Zona Rosa’s Central Park has a great line up of bands every Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Snag an adult beverage at the beer garden powered by Touring Taps, and enjoy dinner from the food trucks. Bring chairs and blankets and let the kiddos play at the park while you enjoy the live music atmosphere.

Coffee Club

Grab your mom friends and playdate pals and head to Zona Rosa’s Central Park on Thursdays from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. all summer long. Bravo Italian Kitchen will be serving up specialty coffees, cannoli and breakfast burritos. Grab some flowers to admire at home from The White Farmhouse Flower Truck, Betty. New this year, Zona Rosa has fun activities planned during The Coffee Club, check out the full list here.

KCMC Tip

Bring a towel and change of clothes for the kids as they’ll want to play in the fountains!

Summer Fest

Zona Rosa’s North Park will be transformed on July 15 for the ultimate summer block party from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Zona Rosa’s Summer Fest will feature live music, food trucks, kids’ activities and local makers during The Strawberry Swing Indie Craft Fair.

Patios/Kid Friendly Dining

Need a break from feeding the kids all day every day? 54th Street’s patio is one of our favorite spots for a family fun night with pickleball courts, yard games and kid-friendly fare. And we’re excited to check out the new Anejo Mexican Cuisine, now open with a great patio overlooking the entrance of Zona Rosa!

New Shops

Zona Rosa continues to add a diverse mix of tenants from local to national brands. Some recent additions include rOOTS KC plant shop, Lids, Restore Cryotheraphy and Tulle and Dye Shoppe. Coming soon is Annie Austen, a local jewelry and vintage finds boutique and Shop Len, a chic women’s boutique from the creators of Lucca Collection boutique in the River Market.

Laura Mulcahy
Laura is wife to Marty, and mom to Michael (11), Joseph (9) and Anna (5). She spends most of her days juggling working from home, shuffling kids to activities and can usually be found cheering on the boys from the baseball stands. She is born and raised in Kansas City, graduated from KU (Rock Chalk Jayhawk!) and has spent most of her career in advertising sales. She loves big Italian family dinners, trying out new restaurants in Kansas City on a rare date night and can never say no to an impromptu dance party with her kids.
