If we start planning for summer, it will come eventually, right?! Registrations are open for summer camps and activities are filling up fast! Check out some of our favorite camps for kids of all ages and interests. Not only do they continue learning and having fun, but you get a little, well-deserved break!

YMCA of Greater Kansas City

Kids can have the best summer ever at Y Summer Day Camps! The focus is on achievement, relationships and belonging, with fun activities like field trips to explore our city, camper competitions to show off talents and learn teamwork, as well as wild and wacky dress up days. Plus enjoy swimming, arts, STEM, outdoor education and more. Locations throughout the metro include Blue Valley, Olathe, Piper, Platte County R-3, Shawnee Mission and Spring Hill school districts, North Kansas City YMCA and Riverside Community Center. Choose any camp that is convenient for you, regardless of what school your child attends. Hours are 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Come for a week or the whole summer. Each week features a unique theme with fun activities that include physical movement, social interaction, education, leadership building, personal growth and creativity. Topgolf Summer Academy

Our Summer Academy is five days of non-stop entertainment and learning that kids will love. This program includes all of the components that make up the great game of golf. From chipping, putting and full swing, to the rules and etiquette, kids will learn everything they need to know to improve their game in a relaxed environment taught by golf pros. Select one of the weeks this summer for children ages 6-12 to attend, M-F, 9 a.m. – noon. Lunch included.

Week-long, high-energy theater day camps for ages 5-12 are offered throughout Kansas City. Spend your days singing, dancing, and acting your way toward the final performance on Friday afternoon. Youth Baseball Camp for ages 6-12 on July 15th-18th between 8:30-3:00 (Early & Late Drop Off Available). The emphasis of this camp: Developing character traits in young Kansas City area ballplayers with a confidence-building, teammate oriented, self-esteem building baseball program over four days. Join us July 8-12 for Captain Plant-it, a weeklong camp focused on splashing in ponds, digging in dirt, hugging trees, and sowing seeds while learning about how nature is an important part of all of our lives. From July 15-19, children can learn about the origins of our food during the Sow What? Get Cooking in the Garden day camp focused on vegetable gardening, harvesting produce, and preparing food under the instruction of a professional chef. Aftercare options for both camps are available.

Sarah is mama to 8-year-old, Henry, 5-year-old Clark and 3-year-old Lucy. After growing up in Manhattan, Kansas (Go Cats!), she moved to Minnesota where she met her husband, Shea. Realizing how much she hated snow in May, she convinced him to move to Kansas City in 2010. Together they have lived in Midtown, Waldo, the Plaza before migrating to Johnson County. Sarah has her master’s in urban administration and works part-time as a content strategist. In between the crazy, she likes to try new restaurants, go for walks around the neighborhood, dig in the sand at Franklin Park and experience all things KC.
