The AR Workshop Lee’s Summit: Your Creative Oasis

This post is sponsored by AR Workshop in Lee’s Summit.

I recently had the pleasure of attending a private event at the AR Workshop in Lee’s Summit with a small group of friends (a.k.a fellow moms desperate for some time away). With everything going on in the world right now, I can’t tell you how nice it was to go enjoy some snacks and drinks, have conversation with friends, and just create something. I’m also one of those people who will have an idea of making something crafty but let’s be real- you and I both know I won’t get to it.

Enter the AR Workshop experience!

This DIY studio is owned by Angela Waring, whose passion for creativity created a warm, fun, and open atmosphere. She truly was a joy to work with and was a wonderful hostess. For our event, we were able to choose our project ahead of time on her website. I was appreciative of this opportunity to choose ahead of time because the options are endless! When we arrived, everything was ready at our seat (even with the sweetest and most beautiful work of art cookies from Sweet P’s Yummies).

With guidance from Angela and her assistant Bailey, the process to create our projects couldn’t have been more stress free.  If a mistake was made, one of them was on it. Run out of paint? They graciously brought a refill. I am a perfectionist when it comes to crafting projects of any kind- so it was so helpful to me to have them there for reassurance!

After we finished our pieces, we were able to peruse the retail section at the front of the store- full of handmade items (mostly seasonal). I left with the most darling fabric pumpkin to gift to a friend in a fall-themed bag.

Outside of our private event, the AR Workshop offers an incredible variety of options when it comes to creating your own work of art!  Below are a few of them.

DIY To-Go Kits

Don’t want to come in for an event or workshop but want to create? Order online and pick up a to-go craft kit. They just released their darling ornament making kits!

Workshops

As seen on the super fun clipboard display, they have a myriad of ongoing events that you can sign up for! Pick the project that stands out to you, grab a friend and go! One super cute project right now are the Halloween/Christmas villages. I love decor that is versatile!  On one side it’s Halloween, turn them around and you’re ready for the holidays. Projects range from canvas, wood, string and paint, chunky knit creations, yard games, jewelry stamping and door mats- truly something for everyone.

Private Group Events

This is what we were lucky enough to be able to do!  It was so fun to have the whole place to ourselves.  I also loved the option for each person to do her own thing.  This is a great option to consider for team building events, bachelorette parties, baby showers, birthday parties, date nights, girls night out, or just because!  Angela has kindly waived the private party fee for the time being so now is the time!

Kids Parties and Camps

Events specifically for kids are listed on the website. Think summer 2021 or birthday parties!

Make it for me

Just see something you love and simply want to just buy?  The wonderful staff will make it for you! Just order online and pick up.

In a few short hours (that flew!), I left with a completed project that I absolutely love and if I don’t mind saying so, looks professional. In no other world would this have happened within the walls of my home at the moment. I cannot wait to go back another time and try my hand at something new again.

If you are looking for a break from 2020 and could use a creative outlet, AR Workshop in Lee’s Summit has you covered.
