The Magic of Cruisin’ with Santa Claus: December 2020

The holidays looked different this year, but December was still a magical month for 225 families who attended Kansas City Mom Collective’s Cruisin’ with Santa Clause events. The event took place on three different weekends at our host sites: Prairiefire, Legends Outlets and Burlington Creek.

Families drove through, with warm cups of hot chocolate thanks to Rock and Brews, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and Caribou Coffee. Along the path, children found our friend, Elf on the Shelf, in different silly situations courtesy of our friends at Elf Made Easy.

Along the route, there were games, prizes, reindeer food, ornament making, movie trivia, cookie decorating kits, a visit from fire fighters and police officers and ALL THE SWAG! Each route ended with a trip to the North Pole post office, one even with postal workers on roller-skates, and finally a visit with Santa and a personalize gift. Thanks to Santa Jim and 41 Action News’ Kevin Holmes for inspiring so many smiles.

Families took home crafts, ornaments and cookie decorating kits (Thanks, McKeever’s) to continue the magic all month.

Give BackDonation at Operation Breakthrough

In line of the mission of Kansas City Mom Collective of creating an encouraging and supportive community both online and offline, we were able to extend that goal to supporting all families in KC with donations to Operation Breakthrough.

Operation Breakthrough provides a safe, loving and educational environment for children in poverty and empowers their families through advocacy, emergency aid and education. Event guests donated peanut butter, jelly, diapers and baby wipes- the most needed items.
