Visit 100+ Attractions in Kansas for FREE this Summer

The Sunflower Summer pass is coming back for 2023 with even more ways to explore the state.

Sunflower Summer, developed by the Kansas Department of Education, provides a wide variety of ways for families to get out, explore something new, and enjoy time together. Kansas families can visit museums, zoos, historic landmarks and more for free from May 26-August 13.

Kansas students in pre-K through 12th grade eligible for one free admission ticket to each participating attraction.

Participate in the Sunflower Summer Program

  1. Download the app.
  2. Show your summer passport in the app at the ticketing desk of your chosen attraction.
  3. Tickets can be used once and will be tracked in the app.

Sarah grew up in Manhattan, Kansas (Go Cats!), she moved to Minnesota where she met her husband, Shea. Realizing how much she hated snow in May, she convinced him to move to Kansas City in 2010. Together they have lived in Midtown, Waldo, the Plaza, and now Overland Park. Sarah is mom to 10-year-old, Henry, 7-year-old Clark and 5-year-old Lucy. She has her master’s in urban administration and is passionate about making Kansas City a more equitable and supportive community. In between the crazy, she likes to drink coffee, run, hike, travel as much as possible, and experience all things Kansas City!
