Boulevard Brewery is synonymous with all things Kansas City and well, beer of course. But did you know they just launched a line of canned craft cocktails? Fling isn’t the first adventure outside of the beer category, a wine years ago and not to be mentioned again is what we’re told. However, this new line of craft cocktails in a can pushes the boundaries and allows Boulevard to step outside of the beer box and explore the world of interesting adult beverages.
What is a canned craft cocktail you ask?
Well for the Kansas City Moms Blog team, who got to enjoy an exclusive tasting, they are portable, convenient and very drinkable adult beverages without all the work! Not to be confused with other canned adult beverages on the market – what kind of alcohol is in those anyway?! Boulevard elevates these cocktails with premium, local spirits from partners at 360 Vodka, Restless Spirits and Mean Mule Distilling Co. We love that Boulevard stayed true to their Kansas City routes in this new adventure by crafting Fling with local companies!
For now, Fling comes in four fantastic flavors, but we can’t confirm or deny that more are coming down the pipeline. All 4 flavors are crisp, refreshing and tasted like Summer in a can – perfect for Backyard BBQ, pool parties, lake life and just about any time you want a delicious cocktail without having to make it! Fling is all-natural, gluten free, under 200 calories and 9g carbs so you can feel good about your drink of choice.
Blood Orange Vodka Soda
At just 100 calories, this was a crowd favorite among the KCMB team! Made with 360 vodka and hints of blood orange, super light and refreshing but not too sweet, we could sip on this one all night while dreaming of sunbathing on the Italian Coast. Salute!
Cucumber Lime Gin and Tonic
Crafted with Builders Botanical Gin from husband and wife team (also a mom, so we already love her) of Restless Spirits, this was surprisingly delicious even to the non-Gin drinkers in our group. Subtle, smooth and with the slightest taste of cucumber and lime, this will be the perfect pre-dinner cocktail at your next party!
Margarita
Do yourself a favor and enjoy one of these on your next Taco Night! This perfect blend of sour, sweet and salty is made with American Agave Spirit (that’s Tequila not made in Mexico) from local distillers, Mean Mule. Pair it with Boulevard’s Space Camper or Vamos for a fun spin on a beer-a-rita or blend it up for a delicious icy by the pool.
Mai Tai
Imagine being on a a tropical island because Mai Tai literally tastes like a paradise vacation in a can (without kids of course, because that would be called a trip). It’s sweet but not too sweet with hints of lime, orange and almond, crafted with rum from the Virgin Islands.
Our team enjoyed all the flavors of Fling (including the husbands) and agreed they are the perfect drink for summer – whether you’re celebrating on a beach vacation, a backyard BBQ, neighborhood block party or just hanging out with the kids at the pool!
