Kansas City has many opportunities to enhance STEM learning with after school and summer learning.
Bricks 4 Kidz
Bricks 4 Kidz builds proprietary models out of LEGO® bricks that are not found in stores, so kids (3 +) are always challenged. Younger children learn colors, and counting, and much more. Older kids learn hands on core concepts of science, math, engineering, and technology by building cars, windmills, paper crinklers, robotics, and more. Many of the models are motorized so the children can build a car out of LEGO® Bricks and then actually make it move! The best part is that all kids LOVE playing with LEGO® Bricks and the learning just happens spontaneously.

If math is a problem, Mathnasium can solve it. Students will grow more excited and confident about math—and their grades will reflect that. For students who already excel in math, the sky’s the limit. They will work to expand their math skills and, with math learning made exciting, can see all the doors that being great at math can open. Available programs for elementary school through high school.
Locations in Leawood, North and South Blue Valley, Lee’s Summit and Liberty
At Math Monkey of Leawood, student are taught to think rather than just memorize. While in class, students learn more than one way to solve a problem. By showing students multiple ways to solve a problem their understanding of how numbers work will grow. These mental strategies will help build confidence, speed, problem solving and reasoning skills. Math Monkey does not simply teach rote memorization. We place each student in classes based on where they ARE, rather than age or grade. This makes the program a great fit for students that may have lost confidence to those that are gifted and need to be challenged.
At Play-Well TEKnologies, we know that kids are already naturally gifted creators. What we strive to provide is an environment where students can
create without fear of mistakes, explore fundamental STEM concepts through play, and express their creativity in ways they never thought possible.
With tens of thousands of LEGO® pieces and the guidance of our passionate instructors, the possibilities are truly endless!
